Your devices and content
CouchDeck connects your Windows PC to devices you authorize. Depending on your edition and the features you use, it processes screen and audio streams, keyboard/mouse/touch/gamepad input, transferred text and files, and remote-terminal commands and output. Share only with devices and people you trust: they can see the content you make available.
These functions run on your PC and connected devices and do not require a CouchDeck cloud account. CouchDeck does not automatically send this content to the developer as analytics. External connections and support you request are described below.
Your PC stores settings, paired-device records and credentials, component state, and operational logs. Transfer history can contain text, file names, locations, and related metadata; received files can remain on disk. Functional browser storage and authentication cookies support the phone interface and remembered access.
Discovery and external connections
Local discovery can advertise your PC/service name, local addresses, and listening port to your network. External-access features may query or configure your router.
Connectivity checks and enabled external streaming can contact Cloudflare address-discovery services and external network-probe services. These receive IP addresses, ports, and the protocol information needed to establish a connection; an address-discovery request does not upload your screen or files. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
If you configure your own HTTPS proxy or tunnel, its provider processes traffic routed through it. Depending on your chosen mode, this can include web/control requests or the full screen/audio/control stream. Check that provider’s policies. CouchDeck does not ask you to enter that provider’s account credentials. Plain HTTP web connections do not have HTTPS protection; protection differs by route, so do not assume every connection is end-to-end encrypted.
Diagnostics stay with your PC unless you share them
The phone streaming interface automatically sends limited performance, connection-state, timing, and browser/capability records to the currently connected PC through its authenticated site connection. This is not an upload to the developer. Diagnostic fields are allowlisted, excluding typed text, file contents, and connection credentials. If you use your own proxy, these requests follow that route too.
Pending records use bounded browser-tab storage. Local operational logs rotate according to size limits.
Exporting a diagnostic report saves it locally. It may contain system/build details, component and network status, and recent logs. Redaction is applied, but anonymity is not guaranteed. Review the report before sending it, and remove unrelated confidential material.
Information you send to support
When you contact support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments or purchase evidence you choose to send. We use this material to respond, investigate the reported problem, and verify a purchase where needed. Authorized technical service providers may help process relevant content for this work. We limit what is shared to what is needed for the issue; please avoid sending passwords, unrelated personal information, or unnecessary files.
The email link opens your mail application; this website does not upload reports for you. Our published mailbox uses Microsoft Outlook. Microsoft and your email provider process email under their own policies; see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Support records are kept for as long as reasonably needed to handle the issue and related follow-up. Access is limited to the developer and authorized technical service providers used for that work. You can email to request access, correction, or deletion of information you sent. We will explain any necessary purchase/legal record retention or technical backup limits. Provider-held records are also subject to the provider’s terms and available deletion controls.
Website and stores
This static website has no advertising trackers, analytics scripts, or newsletter form. It uses browser language preferences and saves a manual language choice locally; clearing this site’s browser storage removes that choice.
Cloudflare Pages hosts the site and processes ordinary connection/HTTP request information, such as IP addresses and request headers, to deliver and protect it. No analytics script does not mean no hosting-provider processing. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
The store through which you obtain CouchDeck handles its own accounts, purchases, payments, and downloads under its privacy notice. This website has no checkout. Stores may provide order information to the seller, and you may send purchase evidence to support.
Your choices and deletion
You can stop sessions, disable external access, revoke remembered devices, and manage your local files and settings. Clearing transfer history removes its records, not the original or received files. Clear browser site data to remove browser-held preferences and credentials; revoke the device on the PC to end its authorization.
Uninstalling does not necessarily remove received files or all shared machine-component state. Windows package removal, browser settings, and your backups can also affect retention. Do not rely on uninstall alone to erase everything.
For information you sent to us, make privacy requests through the support address above. Applicable rights depend on your jurisdiction. We cannot directly erase information held only on your devices or independently by a store or service provider. We will update the date above when this notice changes.
